Third Eastern Partnership
Formal ministerial meeting on environment and climate change to take place under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union
The third formal ministerial meeting of the Eastern Partnership on the environment and climate crises will take place virtually tomorrow, 22 June, co-organised by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) and the European Commission.
The meeting will be co-hosted by the Portuguese Minister for the Environment and Climate Action, João Pedro Matos Fernandes, and by the European Commission, represented by Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans and the Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Virginijus Sinkevičius.
The EU and the Eastern Partner countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine) will meet to jointly review progress on the goals and priorities set at the second ministerial meeting in 2018, particularly the commitment to stepping up cooperation to tackle the twin crises and promoting sustainable and inclusive economic development.
