This afternoon, the German Chancellor visits her French counterpart in southern France.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to France on 20 August at the invitation of French President, Emmanuel Macron. She will meet the French President in the afternoon at his summer residence, Fort de Brégançon, near Toulon.
The European leaders will discuss European political and international issues.
The leaders’ meeting will be comprised of talks in the afternoon, followed by a press conference at 18:30 and then a joint dinner. The German Chancellor will travel back to Berlin later in the evening.
