Stakeholder meeting on guidelines related to the regulation on market surveillance and compliance of products

Published on: 22/01/2020

We're looking for feedback on guidelines on the implementation of Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products.

Event date: 21/02/2020

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products strengthens and modernises market surveillance of non-food products in order to protect citizens from unsafe and non-compliant products and to provide a level playing field for economic operators.

Article 4 of the regulation specifies that, for certain product categories, there should be an economic operator in the EU that can provide information to, and cooperate with the market surveillance authorities.

The regulation requires the European Commission to draw up guidelines for the practical implementation of Article 4 for the purposes of market surveillance authorities and economic operators.

To get your feedback on the draft guidelines, we are organising a stakeholder meeting in Brussels on Friday 21 February 2020.

To attend, please fill out this form by 14 February. As places may be limited, please wait until you receive an official confirmation of your registration before making arrangements to attend.

You can receive the draft guidelines in advance by emailing GROW-B1@ec.europa.eu

If you are unable to attend the meeting, suggestions on the draft guidelines can be submitted by 17 April 2020 to the same email address.
