The Arab Barometer seeks to give voice to the views and concerns of ordinary citizens across the Middle East and North Africa. In the most ambitious and wide-ranging public opinion survey of its kind, the Arab Barometer 5th wave explores what it is like to live in the Arab world today.

Michael Robbins, Director, Arab Barometer, will present key themes from the 5th wave survey, including citizens’ views on international affairs, perceptions of foreign powers such as the EU, and the desire to emigrate. The findings also shed light on the root causes of the protests that swept the region in 2019 and document growing frustration at the inability of governments across the region to address major challenges such as stagnating economies and corruption.

The presentation will be followed by comments from MEP Isabel Santos, Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the Mashreq Countries and Rosamaria Gili, Head of Division Maghreb, EEAS.

Registration and sandwich lunch from 12.30 - Meeting from 13.15 to 14.30
