A Sustainable Future for Europe - The Contribution of Frontier Research, Brussel

Sustainability is just one of many areas where frontier research can make a real difference: from healthy lives to sustainable cities, from food security to equal societies. This event will be an occasion for scientists and policy-makers to discuss how frontier research can help tackle some of the biggest sustainability challenges facing European citizens. Some ERC grantees will share their exciting findings on renewable energies, biodiversity threats, demographic change and the medicine of the future.

Dit agentschap werd in 2007 opgericht en wordt sinds 15 juli 2009 autonoom bestuurd. De taken van het agentschap vloeien voort uit het onderzoeks- en innovatieprogramma Horizon 2020 van de Europese Unie. Waar de wetenschappelijke raad van de Europese Onderzoeksraad de wetenschappelijke strategie en methodologieën vastlegt, is het agentschap ERCEA verantwoordelijk voor de uitvoering en toepassing van de financieringsactiviteiten in het kader van Horizon 2020.
