In the context of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the informal meeting of the ministers of culture will take place on the 16th of April 2019. The works will be held in Bucharest, at the Parliament Palace.
The event brings together the ministers of the member states of the European Union and will be chaired by the Romanian Minister of Culture and National Identity, Valer Daniel Breaz. The European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Tibor Navracsics, representatives of the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, as well as representatives of the Romanian Government will also attend the meeting.
The two working sessions will be dedicated to the following topics: funding and innovation for the cultural and creative sectors and the European cultural heritage. Culture has an essential role to play in ensuring convergence and cohesion in Europe, as well as in raising our common values. In view of this, one of the priorities of the EU Council Presidency is to create new opportunities for the cultural and creative sectors in Europe.

The journalists’ access to the event is exclusively based on the accreditation for the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union:

Journalists already accredited on the online portal https://accreditation.romania2019.eu/ can collect their badges, personally, presenting their ID and a copy of the accreditation approval, from the Accreditation Center at the Parliament Palace (Bucharest, Izvor Street, 2-4, S2 entrance), between 09:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or on April 16, the day of the meeting, from 07:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m..
Journalists who do not have accreditation must follow the on-site procedure and they need to have a valid ID and a letter of confirmation, on letterheaded paper, from the institution they represent.
