MEPs will set out their priorities for the 24-25 October European Council in a debate starting at 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday with Commission President Barroso and Vytautas Leškevičius, Lithuanian deputy European affairs minister, for the Council Presidency.
MEPs are likely to stress the need for real reductions in youth unemployment, a stronger and more social European monetary union (EMU), incentives for innovation, and better measures and policy to deal with migration in the Mediterranean..
