SPECIAL REMARKS
In view of the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Belgian government has announced a series of strict measures to combat the alarming rates of infection in the country (more information on the Belgian measures is available via the following link: https://www.info-coronavirus.be/en/).
Subject to the evolution of the pandemic in Belgium and in accordance with the president's decision of 22 December 2020 (SG.A.MODA(2020)D/3301), Committee meetings can be held in hybrid form as of 16 January 2021. However, given recent public health developments, participants are strongly encouraged to follow the meetings remotely.
Participants invited to a hybrid meeting and who plan to attend the meeting in person should inform the meeting organiser that they will be physically present at the meeting at least one calendar week before the date of the meeting. Failure to comply with this provision will result in members being denied access to the meeting room.
All the technical details of the organisation of the Interactio video conference will be sent to you in a separate message.
In accordance with the Bureau decision of 28 October 2020 amending the decision on the reimbursement of expenses and allowances, beneficiaries who have been invited to a duly authorised meeting and who decide to participate remotely will be entitled to a daily allowance if they are unable to attend the meeting in person as a result of COVID-19 national travel restrictions or other related measures, provided that their name is included on the attendance list that is drawn up on the day of the meeting by the secretariat. For any questions regarding reimbursement, please contact the Members' Working Conditions Unit.
Members unable to attend the meeting are asked to give advance notice to int@eesc.europa.eu.
Information about practical arrangements can be found here.
