The European Public Policy Analysis (EPPA) students welcome you to the 2nd EPPA Symposium that takes place on Tuesday, 20 June 2017 in Bruges. This year the Symposium is focused on the topic: “EU policy on labour migration: One size fits all?”
The Symposium will be organized in three panels in which both experts on the topic and the EPPA students will discuss the following issues:
-Free movement of labour: Economic effects and remaining barriers
-Matthias BUSSE, Researcher at the Centre for European Policy Studies
2.What challenges for harmonization and implementation of migration policy: ‘Blue card policy’
-Lucie CERNA, Research Associate at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS), Oxford
-Katharina EISELE, Policy Analyst at the European Parliament
3.What are the effects of the posted workers directive? What regulatory challenges?
-Aukje VAN HOEK, Professor of Private International Law and Civil Procedure at the University of Amsterdam
The Symposium will be co-hosted by Professor Phedon NICOLAIDES, Director of the European Economic Studies Department and Professor Olivier COSTA, Director of the European Political and Administrative Studies Department.
The symposium is open to the public but registration is required before 19 June at 12:00 noon.
