You will join:

-The Information Technology (IT) Department which provides computing services for all aspects of the laboratory’s activities. These require a wide range of technologies and skills including the provision of computing facilities, local and wide area networking, platforms for computing environments, software development, databases, desktop environments and a wide range of system integration and management tasks. -The Computing Facilities group which provides for the management and operation of the CERN Computer Centre and associated Computing Facilities.
Functions
As a Workflow Developer in the IT-CF-ASI Section, you will work in the team responsible for the development, maintenance and support of workflow applications. Currently, Incident Management and Request Fulfilment processes have already been implemented in the ServiceNow workflow engine. Other ITIL processes are currently being implemented. In addition to the ServiceNow workflows, there are two Remedy-based workflows that are foreseen to be redesigned and migrated to ServiceNow. These two applications currently based on Remedy are for the management of work assignments for out and insourced service teams, and the tracking and management of the components of CERN’s large-scale CPU farms and data storage clusters. However, the main activity in the future will be the development, maintenance and support of workflows using ServiceNow.
Your main activities will consist of:

-Working closely with the Service Management Team to understand the CERN designed workflows.
-
-Participating in the implementation and maintenance of workflow applications based on ServiceNow.
-
-Providing support and training on the ServiceNow workflow applications.
Qualification required
University degree or equivalent qualification in the field of Computing Sciences.
Experience and competencies
The experience required for this post are:
-
-Very good experience with programming and in particular with JavaScript, Glide and/or Jelly.
-
-Very good knowledge of web services and Oracle/MySQL databases.
-
-Experience with workflow engines.
-
-Knowledge of the common ITIL processes is an advantage.
The technical competencies required for this post are:
-
-Systems & applications development: programming/software development, testing, usability requirements analysis; Java, Glide and/or Jelly.
-
-Installation and integration: systems integration, technical advice and guidance.
-
-Service & systems operation: application support, ServiceNow, Database administration, Oracle.
-
-Technical strategy and planning: solution architecture.
