Function
The Directorate General Information Systems (DG/IS) provides, operates and supports the IT infrastructure and applications required by the ECB and the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).
Within DG/IS, the Enterprise Systems Division (ENS) is responsible for the portfolio of enterprise systems across the ECB, including its enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, which mainly comprise SAP products, and its enterprise content management (ECM) systems, which mainly comprise OpenText Livelink. ENS manages IT-related ECB and ESCB tasks and projects belonging to the portfolio, while providing maintenance and functional management for the applications within the portfolio.
The successful applicant will be entrusted with the following main tasks:

-the development of IT application services throughout the complete development lifecycle from technical design, specification, evaluation and selection of new solutions to activity planning, implementation and reporting;
-
-application integration in the implementation phase of IT services and systems, including analysis, development, testing, maintenance, release and documentation;
-
-maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical documentation related to SAP products and associated modules and component applications, including operational requirement and release management;
-
-the transfer of knowledge to colleagues and ensuring that sufficient documentation is available for tasks to be assigned to 1st and 2nd level support;
-
-close liaison with internal customers regarding the design of solutions to meet requirements and suggesting potential alternatives based on standardisation and total cost of ownership.
To enable the Division to maintain its business continuity capability, the successful applicant will occasionally be expected to perform work during non-standard working hours and work at the ECB’s standby sites.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must have the following knowledge and competencies:

-master’s-level university qualification in computer science, business engineering, or other domains relevant to IT, or a proven ability to perform the tasks required by the position;
-
-extensive professional experience (preferably a minimum of five-years) in the field of SAP development or SAP solution architecture;
-
-expert knowledge of, in particular, SAP Logistics (MM, SRM, PM) and/or SAP HCM (e.g. PA, PY, LSO, E-Recruiting);
-
-expert knowledge of SAP ABAP Objects, including Web Dynpro for ABAP and SAP WebFlow programming;
-
-experience in the design and development of interfaces between SAP and external systems through SAP PI would be highly desirable;
-
-knowledge of SAP HR Forms and SAP Smart Forms would be an advantage;
-
-experience in SAP WebFlow design, development and management would be an advantage;
-
-an understanding of the NetWeaver Portal in respect of creating and managing portal content, working with roles, navigation and user management would be an advantage;
-
-experience in customising SAP solutions to meet the requirements of public, international or EU organisations would be an advantage;
-
-project management; ideally experience as a project manager or of having a lead role in an SAP implementation project;
-
-process management; knowledge of IT service management processes and best practice (such as ITIL), in particular in the areas of problem management, release management and capacity planning;
-
-quality management; knowledge of ISO9001 project quality management standards would be an advantage;
-
-fluent command of English with proven drafting ability;
-
-a good knowledge of at least one other official language of the EU;
-
-a good knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

Three-year fixed-term contract, with conversion to a permanent contract subject to individual performance and organisational needs.
