The Business Continuity Management (BCM) program office is located within Corporate Security, General Services Department (GSD). The BCM facilitates World Bank Group (WBG) wide actions to implement the institution’s Business Continuity framework at the all facilities but primarily at the WBG’s corporate HQ, for which the incumbent has primary responsibility. The Business Continuity Coordinator is responsible for assisting in implementing and continuously improving the enterprise business continuity management program, corporate awareness, projects, processes and activities. As a key deliverable of the BCM program, Business Continuity Plan (BCP) documentation, implementation, training and maintenance support to the Bank’s Vice-Presidential Units (VPUs) located in Washington, DC will be the focus of the BC Coordinator work program. Working in close relationship with Headquarters security operations, and the IT operations of the WBG, the unit integrates business recovery planning into a seamless process of identifying, mitigating and responding to situations that may impact the business processes of the institution.
Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 2 year renewable term appointment.

The Business Continuity Coordinator reports to the BCMU Program Manager. Line supervision and overall management is provided by the Chief, Corporate Security and Business Continuity. The incumbent works with clients to facilitate planning, implementation, training, testing, tracking and maintenance of VPUs’ client’s Washington based BCPs

•Working in conjunction with unit level BC coordinators the incumbent will support the development VPU level resiliency planning.

•Reviews VPU BCPs to identify issues relating to functional effectiveness and efficiency, accountability over the use of resources, and institutional and financial risks, and develops recommendations for improvement.

•In conjunction with IT BC team identifies and assures availability of critical IT system support requirements.

•Supports the training and skills enhancement initiatives to ensure effective transfer of emergency response and BCM knowledge/skills, and helps maintain client awareness throughout the WBG.

•Continually updates Business Impact Analysis and Recovery Capability and Risk Assessments; advises and supports Business Units in updates and follow-up on risk mitigation activities

•Participates in coordination of recovery efforts in cases of emergencies and significant disruptions providing a lead responsibility for integration of technologies to support in this effort.

•Participates in other projects or tasks as may be assigned by the BCMU Program Manager.
Criteria

•Master’s degree and 7 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, crisis response and business resiliency practices.

•Certification in Business Continuity Planning or equivalent is required.

•Demonstrated experience related to business resiliency.

•Communicator; excellent writing and verbal skills; ability to make presentations to large groups.

•Enthusiastic problem-solver with an ability to integrate specific knowledge with broader operational strategies and policies and institutional objectives.

•Proven track record of performing and delivering reviews of business processes, including at a high level information technology/disaster recovery systems and services.

•Knowledge and understanding of WBG services, systems and other tools as related to business activities and operational practices is beneficial.

•Effective in delivering results in matrix-managed environment.

•Conceptual, analytical and evaluative skills.

•Ability to work in a team environment within in a high stress multi-cultural environment often acting as an interlocutor in facilitating business relationships.
